Poppy Display At War Memorial

The stunning hand crafted poppy display has been put up today by Flitwick Town Council’s Grounds Team at the War Memorial to mark Remembrance.
The stunning creation was made last year and features knitted and crocheted poppies by members of the Stitchers Group and friends from Flitwick and surrounding villages.  Around the War Memorial, the small garden area features single knitted poppies.
On Remembrance Sunday this year sadly there will be no parade or service at the War Memorial due to Covid-19 restrictions.  A special service is being held at Flitwick Parish Church with a small number of invited guests.
The service will be streamed live via Flitwick Parish Church Facebook page @Flitwick Church on Sunday 8th November at 2pm to give everyone the opportunity to participate from home.
Members of the Flitwick branch of the Royal British Legion will be at Flitwick Market on Friday 23rd, Friday 30th and Friday 6th November as part of their fundraising campaign for the Poppy Appeal this year.
