More Support for Local Families this Winter
November 3, 2025
The Town Council is delighted to announce that Central Bedfordshire Council has allocated £30,000 from the UK Household Support Fund to the Flitwick Community Fridge. This funding will enable us to provide additional support to local families on low incomes this winter.
The funding will be used to support households on our Supported Tier by:
- Providing food vouchers for households living in Central Bedfordshire
- Supplying additional food at our supported sessions, including frozen items, fruit, vegetables, dry goods, and toiletries
- Offering wider essential support for our most vulnerable households
This funding has been secured through partnership working between Cllr Andy Snape, Leader of Flitwick Town Council, Flitwick Town Council staff, and colleagues at Central Bedfordshire Council.
We are grateful to Cllr John Baker, Executive Member for Finance and Highways, and Cllr Heather Townsend, Ward Councillor for Flitwick, for their continued support of this project from the very beginning.
Flitwick Town Council is proud to take a proactive, hands-on approach to supporting our community. Being able to offer practical help for local people this winter through our Flitwick Community Fridge service reflects our commitment to doing what matters most for residents.
