Flitwick Green Canopy Tree Planting Initiative

We have been successful in our application to Central Bedfordshire Council’s Tree Planting Grant for the Flitwick Green Canopy initiative!
In celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee, the Green Canopy Initiative will see new trees and hedgerow planted throughout the town in Hinksley Recreation Ground, Station Road and Beaumont Road play areas and on grassed areas at end of Station Road.

Flitwick Gardners’ Assocation, Greensand Youth Rangers and the Parish Paths Partnership (P3) volunteers will be assisting our Public Realm Team with the planting of 500 specimen trees, saplings and hedgerow to add to the tree cover and natural scrub and create new habitat for wildlife to flourish. This will include Rowan, Wild Cherry, Silver Birch, Lime and Beech trees as well as Hawthorn, Blackthorn and Hazel native hedgerow.
