CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SPECTACULAR

The Christmas Lights Switch On event drew the crowds again on Sunday 27th November as we celebrated the countdown to Christmas with carols round the Community Christmas Tree in Flitwick Town Square with local singers and the Ampthill Town Band.  It was great to see so many residents joining in the singing.

We were joined by the Naughty Elf (who lived up to his name!), Festive Stilt Walkers and, of course, the man himself, Father Christmas.

Taken centre stage was 6 year old  Connie Thomas who pressed the magic button to light up the town!  Connie, from Templefield Lower School won a competition to switch on the lights and did a fantastic job.

During the afternoon we also enjoyed a special Advent Nativity performance by Flitwick Parish Church and friends.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support the event; the local traders, Ampthill Town Band,, Bedfordshire Police and cadets, and to the Town Councillors for running the mulled wine and mince pie stall which raised over £500 for the Town Mayor’s Charities Flitwick Food Extra and Citizens Advice Mid Beds.

We can’t wait to do it again next year.
