Flitwick Town Council is delighted to have been successful with its application to Central Bedfordshire Council’s Tree Grant Fund. Remembrance this year has been so different but the whole community has marked both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day in their own different ways. In response to the Government’s decision on Thursday 22nd October that there will be no extra support available this half term for families who have free school meals, Flitwick Town Council has announced that it will be helping families in Flitwick by providing lunches for children on free school meals during the half term week.

The stunning hand crafted poppy display has been put up today by Flitwick Town Council’s Grounds Team at the War Memorial to mark Remembrance. The stunning creation was made last year and features knitted and crocheted poppies by members of the Stitchers Group and friends from Flitwick and surrounding villages.  Around the War Memorial, the
