Town Mayor and Royal British Legion welcome RAF Veteran on 500 mile journey for Mental Health Awareness

RAF veteran and Tesco employee Chris McDowell is walking and cycling a 500-mile journey from Edinburgh to Welwyn Garden City in just 15 days to raise money and mental health awareness – all while carrying a 3kg medicine ball.
The Town Mayor, Cllr John Roberts, joined members of the Flitwick Branch of the Royal British Legion and staff from Tesco Flitwick to form a welcoming party for Chris as he arrived in Flitwick on the 13th day of his journey.
Chris will average 36 miles a day, stopping at 19 Tesco stores to talk to colleagues about their mental health before arriving at Tesco HQ in Welwyn Garden City on Armed Forces Day tomorrow (June 25th).
