FLITWICK TOWN COUNCIL STRATEGY 2021-2025

At the Town Council meeting on 28th June, Members agreed to adopt the draft Flitwick Town Council Strategy 2021-2025, taking into account feedback received from the resident survey that ran from 7th May to 13th June.

Residents were invited to rate their support and give their views on what the Council wants to achieve for the Town in its Vision and Mission, and in the themes for five key areas: A Prosperous Town, A Sustainable Environment, An Engaged Community, A Centre for Everyone and A Council That Delivers.

Feedback received from residents was extremely positive with at least 80% of survey respondents strongly agreeing or agreeing to the Vision and Mission and all the themes detailed in the draft strategy.

All residents’ comments from the survey will be discussed at relevant Council and Committee meetings to ensure feedback is considered wherever possible.

Town Mayor, Cllr Andy Snape said: “We are delighted to receive endorsement of the Council’s new five year strategy and are grateful to everyone who took the time to respond to our survey and share their views.

“Some of the issues highlighted by residents do not come under the Town Council’s responsibility but we will work hard to ensure that, together with other organisations, we  lobby and engage with those who are responsible.”

The process has now begun to create detailed delivery plans for each area.  These will be reported on at each Town Council meeting so that residents can see the progress being made.
