Afternoon Tea with Flitwick Singers

On Saturday 13th February the Lockyer Suite at the Rufus Centre was packed to capacity for the Afternoon Tea event.

Guests were entertained by Flitwick Singers who performed 15 songs, with soloist Derek Archer, based on the theme 'Love is in the Air', appropriately named being so close to Valentines Day.   Songs included 'What The World Needs Now' and 'We've Only Just Begun'.

It was Pat Mountford's final concert in Flitwick as Musical Director and to mark the occasion she was presented with flowers by Cllr David Thompson, Town Mayor, and from Flitwick Singers.   Pat commented that "it's lovely to see so many people here and I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of Flitwick Singers for 25 years."

Cllr Thompson added that "everyone enjoyed the delicious tea and entertaining concert.   I am grateful to the Singers for their kindness in giving their time for this event which has raised over £300 for my charities East Anglian Air Ambulance and Mid Beds Link-a-Ride.
