Foreword by Chairman
Welcome to the Community Development Strategic Play 2008 - 2011 from the Community Focus Committee of Flitwick Town Council.
I hope that you will find the plan innovative and comprehensive. We cover a range of subjects including ways of reducing Anti-Social Behaviour, minimising Social Exclusion and Isolation, facilitating Cohesive Family Living, enabling groups, promoting Community Safety and Health Living, together with a study of the Arts in Flitwick. Obviously the present economic climate has been very much taken into account when examining these subjects.
The next few years will present us with opportunities and challenges that we have not experienced before, but I hope that this plan is proof that we are ready to face the future with confidence.

What is a Children's Centre? A Children's Centre is a local place where you can get all the help, support and advice you need, if you are expecting a baby or if you are already a parent of a child aged under 5 years.
Who will I meet there? As well as our experienced Children's Centre staff, you will have an opportunity to meet and talk to other local parents. You might also meet volunteers and workers from other organisations working in the local area. We're on hand to help you with the most important job of all - parenting!
