Flitwick Manor Park Breathing Places Project

Flitwick Town Council has recently been awarded £9945 from Breathing Places (Big Lottery Fund) to carry out the following
activities in Flitwick Manor Park.
Develop a Friends Group of Flitwick Manor Park to assist in appropriate, on going, practical management of the site.
Improve access by re-surfacing the badly rutted track between the Park and the fields so it is suitable for pedestrians as well
as agricultural vehicles.
Ensure appropriate management of the veteran trees on site.
Survey and monitor the marshy grassland surrounding the Flit Water, identifying key species and monitoring the habitat to
ensure it continues to thrive.
Guided walks, talks, articles and school sessions to raise awareness of the historical and ecological importance of veteran
trees.
The Greensand Trust, a local environmental charity, will be helping the Town Council to deliver aspects of the project.
